MCF advised GMT Gummi-Metall-Technik on the sale of its aerospace division to TriMas Corporation

GMT Gummi-Metall-Technik (“GMT”), a leading provider of anti-vibration and dampening technology for applications in railway, construction, marine, defence and aerospace, has divested its aerospace division to TriMas Corporation (“TriMas”).

MCF acted as the exclusive M&A advisor to GMT on the sale of its aerospace division to TriMas.

The Deal

With a greater focus on its core business and strong growth in the aerospace market, GMT engaged MCF to initiate the carve-out process of its non-core aerospace business unit. With this acquisition, TriMas is expanding its footprint in Europe and is further solidifying its commitment to expanding its market presence and expanding its aerospace product portfolio.

The Target

Established in 2006, GMT Aerospace is a tier 1 developer, manufacturer and supplier of (structural) tie-rods, rubber-metal anti-vibration systems and dampening technology for both commercial and military aerospace applications.

About TriMas

TriMas manufactures a diverse set of products primarily for the consumer products, aerospace and industrial markets through its TriMas Packaging, TriMas Aerospace and Specialty Products groups. TriMas is publicly traded on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol “TRS,” and is headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
