MCF advised the shareholders of Karl Meyer on the sale to Nehlsen
Karl Meyer AG, a family-owned leader in waste management, logistics and shipping solutions, as well as energy services, has been acquired by Nehlsen AG.
MCF acted as the exclusive M&A advisor to Karl Meyer AG and facilitated the transaction through its dedicated expertise in coordinating silent processes between established family-businesses.
The Deal
Through this business combination, Nehlsen AG’s footprint in the German waste management market will grow significantly to more than 80 locations and 3,800 employees. Additionally, new strategic services are added. As the two Companies operate in complementary geographic regions, existing services can be streamlined and offered more efficiently.
The Target
Karl Meyer AG, headquartered in Wischhafen, Lower Saxony is a family business with a corporate heritage spanning almost 80 years. Since its foundation in 1947, the company has developed from a haulage business into an integrated full-service provider of waste collection, transport, and recycling solutions with around 800 employees. The additional offering includes bulk-shipping and logistics solutions as well as energy services. The combination of the two culturally-aligned family businesses provides a strong foundation for Karl Meyer AG’s continued growth and enables a seamless shareholder succession.
The acquisition is subject to the approval of the German antitrust authorities.
